“I’ve never been called Champion before in my life, so I’m thrilled to accept this award. Of course the real champions are the brilliant disabled talent who are making their mark on screen and behind the camera, and the programme creatives who have helped change lives and change attitudes – by casting disabled people across a huge range of shows from Operatunity to Big Brother, from Grand Designs to Hollyoaks and The Inbetweeners and by participating in our production training schemes and providing genuine opportunities for disabled filmmakers to build a career in TV.”
Champion Awards
The Champion Awards are presented to an individual, group or organisation which has demonstrated or fostered excellence in the media industries, and whose work is inclusive, inspirational and outstanding.
