The Ability Media Centre introduce the young people who attend, to the full range of what the arts can offer. The winner in the Opera Category proved to be both accessible and immediate for them all.

John Adams' Doctor Atomic is a richly multi-layered work which unites complex issue of science, art and human responsibility. A large and talented company of outstanding singers and musicians fully realised Adams' powerful and compelling testament by creating a sense of the real and existential horror of the nuclear threat. The production remained inescapably seared into the minds of its audience well after the final curtain.
